Description of the project: ‘Prepared Together for Disasters, Emergencies, and Crises’ (Bulgaria, 2013-2015)

As stated above, the BRC (Bulgarian Red Cross) is the main initiator of activities related to disaster preparedness and response for the most vulnerable groups in the Bulgarian population. The most recent work on regional level is a project ‘Prepared Together for Disasters, Emergencies, and Crises’ (2013-2015) ran under the Bulgarian-Swiss cooperation programme on the territories of three Bulgarian regions (Vidin, Montana, and Pernik). The project targeted people with disabilities, people with specific needs living in isolated villages, and children living in institutions. It aimed to increase their level of disaster preparedness as well as to train experts and volunteers in their work with vulnerable groups.
