Moreover, IFAD concentrates its attention on women's empowerment (IFAD 2015b) as a process of women scaling-up within a community related to economic and legal issues. Women empowerment is also at the core of the interest of the World Wide Web Foundation (more specifically interested on how the web can contribute to women' empowerment). According to this Foundation, "empowerment is the expansion of freedom of choice and action; it is the ability of people to make strategic life choices in a context where this ability was previously denied to them" (World Wide Web Foundation 2015).
